Fall Harvest of Books
There are even books that talk about the harvest moon, which is a great way to talk about lunar cycles. Once you read a couple of these books, be sure to take the kids pumpkin picking, apple picking, or running through a corn maze. By the way, if you can make an apple pie successfully, please explain it to me. This post contains affiliate links. For details, see our Disclosure Policy. Hello, Harvest Moon — Ralph Fletcher.
There's a change of season in the air. Gardens are ready for harvest, pumpkins are ready to carve, and costumes are made ready to wear. Meet a boy who foils a greedy ghost in Beijing, China and an American boy who helps three hungry ghosts. Find a pumpkin with two friends and see how a witch helps her assistant solve a problem of his own making. Sing along with a monster who meets a roaring end! All these and more are waiting for you between the covers of books. Music, mystery, and ghosts combine for another riveting quest for the sibling adventurers.
Reading books with kids never gets old. As summer comes to an end, I wanted to gather a few of my favorite fall books for preschoolers. These books are perfect to read before making a fall discovery bottle or exploring fall fine motor fun. This fun book follows three friends as they hunt leaves, in the fashion of the popular Bear Hunt song. We all know the popular rhyme about the old lady who swallowed the fly. In fall theme fashion, this lively book has her swallowing leaves! Fletcher is a young fox who is quite concerned about the falling leaves.

Fall Books for Preschoolers to Fall in Love With
Autumn in our home is grabbing a quilt, a cup of warm apple cider, and stack of books to read on the porch during a crisp autumn morning. There are a handful of lesser known titles on this list as well as some tried and true, familiar, fall-time stories you and yours will want to read again and again and again. At the bottom of the list are books especially fun for babies and toddlers to read although big kids will enjoy them too! The changing of the leaves is an opportunity for play, art, inquiry, and fun. These picture books are a lot of the reason why I now enjoy them. Books all about this favorite fall-time fruit. A few mention Halloween, but halloween pumpkins books warrant a whole other list in my opinion.
