The Lost Girl by Sangu MandannaEva’s life is not her own. She is a creation, an abomination—an echo. Made by the Weavers as a copy of someone else, she is expected to replace a girl named Amarra, her “other”, if she ever died. Eva studies what Amarra does, what she eats, what it’s like to kiss her boyfriend, Ray. So when Amarra is killed in a car crash, Eva should be ready.
But fifteen years of studying never prepared her for this.
Now she must abandon everything she’s ever known—the guardians who raised her, the boy she’s forbidden to love—to move to India and convince the world that Amarra is still alive.
What Eva finds is a grief-stricken family; parents unsure how to handle this echo they thought they wanted; and Ray, who knew every detail, every contour of Amarra. And when Eva is unexpectedly dealt a fatal blow that will change her existence forever, she is forced to choose: Stay and live out her years as a copy or leave and risk it all for the freedom to be an original. To be Eva.
From debut novelist Sangu Mandanna comes the dazzling story of a girl who was always told what she had to be—until she found the strength to decide for herself.

Common Sense says
Lost Girl is a Canadian supernatural drama television series that premiered on Showcase on September 12, , and ran for five seasons. Following good ratings and positive reviews, it was renewed for a second season on November 12, two months after its premiere , with the episodes order afterwards increased to 22 episodes; a third season on December 9, ; a fourth season on February 28, ; and a fifth on February 27, Episodes begin with a cold open ; followed by the opening title sequence crediting the top four main actors and series creator. The show title and credits are accompanied by the Lost Girl Theme song. Over the top of the sequence and theme song is the voice-over monologue by the protagonist , Bo Anna Silk , summarizing her story:.
Eight years ago the queer world was introduced to Bo Dennis, an unaligned bisexual succubus with a heart of gold. In the first episode, Bo saves Kenzi, a human, from a rapist. As a true bisexual, Bo declares herself neutral and throughout the series fights to remain that way, while trying to figure out who she is and where she comes from. The dark-haired succubus that leads the show spoke out to me because she is a person full of contradiction. Bo is an anti-heroine who wants to protect humans and others while having guilt for the times she spent murdering people due to a lack of control over her abilities.
EST, Mondays on Syfy premiered only three weeks ago, but I am happy to say that I am hopelessly addicted to this genre gem. Hot damn, did I miss having a breezy supernatural-fantasy show in my life. It took the arrival of a confident succubus called Bo Anna Silk and her Goth-pixie best friend Kenzi Ksenia Solo to make me realize that. The good news is that it's easy to catch up with the show. Syfy has no plans to put episodes online, but the network is frequently rerunning the first three episodes of the season -- "It's a Fae, Fae, Fae World," "Where There's a Will, There's a Fae" and "Sorority. Even without a catch-up session, you'd be fine just diving in with Monday's outing, which concerns the complex love life of a Fury i. We've got an exclusive clip from that solid hour here.
